Haiti Teen Challenge Responds to the Crisis in Haiti
Our hearts are broken with the news of the terrible devastation in Haiti, and we are compelled to help alleviate their extreme suffering.
In response, we want to support those who are in the best position to address this immediate crisis. Accordingly, the Haiti Teen Challenge Board of Directors have unanimously voted to donate 10% of the funds raised to-date for the new ministry in Port-au-Prince to World Wide Village www.worldwidevillage.org.
World Wide Village is well established and intimately connected with the people of Haiti. They understand the heartbeat of the country and its people, and they are working in collaboration with other aid and non-profit organizations to maximize resources and impact.
World Wide Village’s primary emphasis at this time is to provide medical supplies and services. They have over 118 medical doctors headed to Haiti to set up mobile medical clinics around the perimeter of the city of Port-au-Prince, and they have containers of food enroute to that area. However, they desperately need your help to continue their work. The Haitian people are singing “God will be with us through the tears” in the streets. Now is the time for us to be God’s hands and feet and do all we can to help them and to pray for them.
We are extremely grateful for your support. We promise to keep you up-dated as we seek God’s plan and timeline for beginning the actual, “on-the-ground” ministry of Haiti Teen Challenge. We will not abandon the people of Haiti. This crisis reveals the leadership so desperately needed in this country, and it serves to strengthen our resolve to equip the young men of Haiti to become godly leaders.
